East Coast Action
Well, the summer is well underway. Our vacation has already come and gone. We went to Vermont and Connecticut. Here are some photos and movies. We have a bunch of photos from the CT part of the trip that I can't find right now. As soon as I do I will post some of those too.

Hi.
Spring is here!
That doesn't mean much here in SF, but the spring blooms are nice.
Here are an assortment of photos and movies from the past month or so.
Enjoy!

On Easter we had an Easter egg hunt in the park with Josie's friend Zariya and her mom Lynell. It was fun. Later that day we went to a street fair and rode rides and pigged out.
Here is a sunrise shot from the back of our house. It looked better in person.
We have been dressing Lazlo up in a lot of Josie's clothes lately. He looks so cute in dresses! He seems to like the way they hang on him. Here he is in a little purple number.
Josie and Lazlo were hammin' it up with the shades and we caught some sweet shots.
This photo was taken at a neighborhood party in Duboce Park a couple of weeks ago. You can't tell from the picture but Lazlo is standing over a large plastic bin 8 inches deep of 1 part dawn to 10 parts water...bubble solution. About 30 seconds after this shot was taken he tumbled head first into the solution and was stuck with his noggin under the liquid. Thankfully a woman was right there and pulled him out after just a second or two. It was so upsetting for all of us (especially Lazlo). We got the "worst parents of the party" award.

HI Everyone. Here are some of the latest highlights....
In February it rained and rained and rained....but we managed to keep busy.
In February it rained and rained and rained....but we managed to keep busy.
Then in March, Mom and Dad Hewitt came for a visit. We had a great time and hope they come back soon.
There was also the St. Patrick's Day Parade....Josie, Lazlo and Una got to ride in the float for the Carpenters Union and throw candy to the crowd. FUN!
And April so far has seen Josie's Birthday come and go. She is 4 now. I am really proud of her. Every so often we get tired of some behavior of hers or we decide it is time for her to "grow up" and pass some age appropriate milestone. We begin to pressure her and she resists. Finally, she tells us that she will do it when she is ready, and gives us a timeline. It is pretty amazing to watch her figure us out!
When she was 2 she told us she would start wearing underwear at age 3 , and when she was 3 she told us she would give up her pacifier at Christmas...to the day she did all these things. Now, for the last 3 or 4 months she has been telling us that when she was 4 she would start sleeping in her big girl bed all night and stop wearing diapers at night. As of Wednesday, her birthday, she has done that. Sleeping alone seems to be hard for her, but she is being very brave. She seems to be a girl of her word.
Anyway, here are some shots of her birthday. Notice her new haircut and the amazing cake made by auntie Maitraya. Thanks Maitraya!
Lazlo (aka the lazer) is doing great! He is healthy and happy. He has lots of new teeth and is almost sleeping through the night. I think he enjoys sharing the room with big sister now. He is so close to walking on his own and is getting "mama" and "dada" down as his first words. He is a true joy.
Here are some videos to round out this posting. YAY!

R.I.P. Cleo
Damn, she was a good dog.
Loyal as the day is long and very very sweet.
She didn't get what she deserved, dogs rarely do.
We miss her like crazy.

The Homefront
Howdy all. Lazlo is asleep, Josie is watching Mary Poppins with Gramma and Maury is at work, the trifecta that allows me to hog the computer!
We have all been passing this brutal 24 hr flu bug back and forth. Mercifully Maury had it Saturday and I had it Sunday....I don't know what would have happened if we were both down at the same time. I imagine a pile of food, some sippy cups and bowls full of water a locked bedroom and two kids left to fend for themselves. I fear Lazlo would not make out so well. Not only is he tiny (6th percentile height and weight) but he is very sensitive. Josie would make minced meat of him.
Here is a new video of Lazlo practicing his walking. He's doing really well.
And then the obligatory photos...

Not much else to say. We hope all our friends and family are well. We hope to see a bunch of you this year, especially the East Coast crew.
Love you all!
